Gulf expands with acquisition of blending plant

Gulf Oil Middle East Limited has acquired a further blending plant close to its existing facility. The Al Daheera Lubricating Oil factory is in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The UAE Government authorities cleared the purchase on the 10th of February 2010.
The new facility has a land area of just over 4 Acres; storage capacity of 7200 MT, a blending capacity of 2000 kl per month and it has two pipelines (one piggable) connected directly to the Jebel Ali free port. This factory is 10 years old and is just 0.5 km away from the present plant.
GOMEL plans to use this opportunity to commence Naphthenic transformer oil manufacture in a new tie up with one of the leaders in the industry. It has also plans to put a specialty grease manufacturing plant in this facility as well as an injection and blow-moulding unit for in-house consumption. GOMEL will also put extra storage tanks for terminal purposes.
This acquisition is in addition to the present expansion activities of GOMEL in the existing Jebel Ali blending plant, which includes new blending lines, filling lines and automation. The combined facilities of GOMEL hence will make GOMEL one of the largest lubricating oil blending facilities in the GCC Area.
These enhanced facilities will produce top quality products and will be geared to provide and even better service for the customers of the Gulf Oil International Group. This acquisition further reflects the growing expansion plans for the worldwide Gulf Oil International Group
